Blog Post #22 - First Day of Filming - 2/28/2022
At last, the long-awaited day of filming has begun! After days, even weeks of planning, we finally began filming. So why don't I give a detailed description of how it went down? For starters, we meet up at Miramar Regional Park where we decided was a pretty spot for filming. It was four of us, me and my group along with someone who we got that had a Car that was easy enough for being able to film in. After everyone got there, we began to plan our day of filming out and we got to it!
From here, we see our Camerman filming the Car Driver getting into the car along with everyone else going into the car to film us getting into the car. This was probably a part where we could scratch it off of our list as it was filmed easily with us matching the dialogue perfectly and everything.
Here you can see the Car and a little bit of the interior in which it was filmed. With us then getting to quite possibly the hardest part of our filming process which was filming our conversation in the car, we had to reshoot at best, like five or six times which got annoying after like the third! Also we had to cut out like a lot of stuff, since some of us said some stuff that isn't pretty PG. So ultimately, we reached on a Consensus to refilm, we got the dialogue right but it was about the only thing that required a ton of polshing. So that was so far the only thing that need re-editing, we also filmed the part where all the passengers disappear all of a sudden and without a trace but thats a part that requires a ton of editing to do, but we got the filming for that out of the picture thankfully.
Here we have three photos of the scene of the Driver looking scared and full of fear for the final part of our opening. We filmed it in the middle of a soccer field with no one in sight, so thankfully, nobody looked at us weirdly for the amazing acting from the person portraying the driver. We managed to film the last part which was also good. So in reality, we actually managed to wrap up just about everything that we had on our storyboard and also that was intended for us to film. So first day of filming was a success! A second day may be needed since we felt as if the driving scene needed a few retouches here and here but aside from that, it was perfect!
