Blog Post #21 - Change in Genre - 2/28/2022

Image
Another thing that I forgot to add is, our change in Genre! So originally the intention was for our Genre to be something in relation to Comedy but ultimately we decided that changing the Genre would be the much more preferable decision since it'd have been extremely difficult to actually land on what exactly we would have been filming for our movie and it also pretty difficult to see what we would base it off of and such so we changed our Genre to Horror as it definitely something that is intended to inflict fear upon the people watching. But yeah, just needed to clear that confusion out for those reading the blogs! Next Blogs will be about our days of filming as well as the various kinds of progress that we're making!

Blog Post #20 - The Main Character - 2/15/2022

Image
Hello! So now it's time to focus on the characters of our blog, more specifically, the main character! The Person who's gonna get the most focus on and who we'll see meet the unfortunate fate of losing their friends within the blink of an eye, and have a tragic mental breakdown in their own despair and anger! So for starters, our characters gonna be the main driver! So the main driver is, as portrayed in the first photo, she's having a good time in her car as she's changing the radio, enjoying time with her other friends, and as previously mentioned, she's changing the radio of the broadcast speaking on the various cases of people having disappeared in recent times. And as portrayed in the second, she's appears stressed, lost and alone, wondering what happened to her other friends. As mentioned, these photos delve more into what's happening with our main character. In the first two images, she's shown stressful in the car, beginning to have a breakdo...

Blog Post #19 - Preparing to Film - 2/11/2022

Image
So now, there's the question! When are we gonna film? Where's the pictures of filming? We want to see it Arturo! I'm sorry but scheduling is hard you know! We haven't ultimately managed to schedule anything yet or film anything yet. But! What I can confirm is that we already have a general time frame of when we should film it, which should be one day within the next two weeks. When that time arrives we'll all be having our share in the working of the movie. Abdullah will work on post production after the movie is recorded, Alejandro will focus on camera movements and camera techniques, and I'll be focusing on the acting and helping with the post production and pre production. When we're filming, we'll start at a park to talk about our roles. We'll then look at areas where we could be able to film easily and then get our camera ready and do our shots that we have listed within our storyboard. I'll be sure to give y'all proof once we're f...

Blog Post #18 - Costuming Designs - 2/11/2022

Image
Now moving onto the next part of our project, the costumes! Our Costumes really aren't anything out of the ordinary, they're more or less more basic colors like black & white hoodies to signify rather the tone and mood of the opening as a whole and to match it's rather dark themes, but we also have decided to separate the coloring of whatever the passengers and the driver are wearing to highlight the contrast and also foreshadow something that should occur later within the story. For starters, this is what we plan on having the various passengers wear.  Either a Dark, black hoodie or a gray hoodie, mainly just signify and foreshadow what is to come towards the passengers and the fate that they'll have once they disappear. It's also meant to have all of them wear something different from the driver as it'll show that they're the ones that weren't so lucky. Also these are being used to emphasize the rather dark and depressing themes of the movie as bot...

Blog Post #17 - The Dark Knight Storyboard - 2/10/2022

Image
So I also decided to Storyboard a specific scene from a specific movie! And why not give it a try with the Interrogation Scene from the Dark Knight!  For starters, we're starting off with a medium close up of the Joker to show his reaction with Batman behind him, and when the light comes on, it shows how Joker is helpless in this situation. Also, there's a contrast of both light and dark used here to show their status, with Batman being the hero and The Joker being the villain. We then get to an Over the Should shot with both Batman and Joker sitting on the same level to show both characters equally helpless as Joker is giving Batman information that he needs. The Director also uses Interrogation lighting to focus more attention on whichever character speaks but also adds in use of shadows to show the dark themes of the Joker. Also Camera Movement is used to as it pans from left to where Batman is sitting to create a swift transition to when he starts talking. A Dutch Tilt i...

Blog Post #16 - Storyboard for Project - 2/9/2022

Image
So this was basically our Storyboard for our Film Opening Project. It's a lot of drawing and writing, but we've explained both visually and verbally on how this will go down. For starters, we're starting with a low angle shot from the outside of the car with the passengers entering as they're talking, along with Natural Lighting. We then get to an Arc Camera Movement which is Anti-Clockwise which begins from the drivers do going toward the back of the car and then to the windshield on the front with the credits showing up with the names. We then get to a static shot showing the front mirror with the passengers talking with the radio in the car getting turned on and off again, as the Lighting gets darker and car as the car reaches the overpass. The Audio then fades from all of the passengers in the car to just the driver. The Lighting then gets dark with no passengers visible in the back and only the driver being visible as we then get to an invisible cut to the next s...

Blog Post #15 - Moodboard - 2/7/2022

Image
k So for my fifteenth Blog Post, I'm continuing to make more and more progress on the final project with the rest of my group. So here we're focusing on a moodboard to describe the overall tone and mood of the project and what exactly it'll look like! So the first image is an empty car which is to describe the scene when the friends go missing, the second being a man yelling in his car on his own to describe the drivers despair, the third one is the driver checking to see if his friends are still there, the fourth is dark road with the only light being the street fight and the fifth being a dark underpass at night time, both of which are used to describe the mood, the sixth is a man standing infront of his car stressed to describe the drivers anguish with the final one being the driver checking his empty car in an attempt to find his friends.
